About Kittery, ME
History
Kittery was first settled in 1623, making it one of the oldest towns in Maine. It was originally part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony but became part of the Province of Maine in 1652. Kittery is home to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Kittery is the most southern town in Maine and is located in York County.
