Project Overview: This renovation at Abbott Farms Condominiums in Hudson, New Hampshire brought new life to a court system that had served the community for over 30 years. This project was two-plus years in the making, and the result is a fully rehabbed and resurfaced 120′ x 110′ multi-sport court built to serve the community for decades to come.
Site Prep and Court Rehab
Renovating a court this old required extensive groundwork before any new flooring could go down:
- Power washed the entire surface to clear decades of buildup and prepare a clean base.
- Patched cracks throughout the playing areas for safety and to properly prepare the surface for the tile overlay.
- Repainted the existing white game lines in green to improve the look of the surface prior to installation.
- Removed and disposed of one existing basketball hoop and anchor system, a second basketball anchor system with no hoop, and two sets of tennis post anchors and center straps, patching over each area once removed.
- Hand dug and poured new concrete for two new basketball hoop anchors.
- Hand dug and poured new concrete for a set of 3-inch tennis post inground sleeves and a center strap anchor.
With the base fully rehabbed and reinforced, the new game court system was installed directly over the refurbished surface.
Court Surface and Design
- Tile: Prime Play tile in Green covers the full court, giving the Abbott Farms community a fresh, vibrant, and modern look.
- Game Lines: White lines were installed for a full slate of activities:
- Full court basketball
- Tennis
- Hopscotch
- Two 14′ x 14′ four-square courts, positioned on each end of the tennis court in line with the center marker
Equipment
- Basketball System: Two new Pro Slam adjustable hoop with a 48-inch arm and 72-inch backboards replaces the old, outdated system with a modern, durable setup.
- Edging: Ramp edging on all four sides completes the court with a clean, safe, finished perimeter.
Project Highlights
This Abbott Farms Condominiums renovation is a true community investment. Rebuilding a court system with three-plus decades of wear required careful crack repair, new anchor systems, and a fully rehabbed base before a single tile could be installed.
