Project Overview: This backyard basketball court in Grafton, Massachusetts was a serious build from the ground up. Before a single tile went down, the project required significant site work to make it happen right. The finished 30′ x 50′ half court delivers a clean, personalized playing surface built to last through New England’s demanding seasons.
Site Preparation
This project required real groundwork before installation could begin:
- 98 tons of structural fill were brought in to properly build up, level, and stabilize the base, ensuring long-term surface performance and drainage.
- An additional section of land was cleared and graded at the customer’s request, giving them the space to plant boundary Arborvitaes around the court perimeter for privacy, wind protection, and a finished landscape look.
The site prep alone sets this project apart. Getting the foundation right is what separates a court that lasts from one that doesn’t.
Court Surface and Design
- Tile: Power Game+ modular tile in Evergreen gives the court a sharp, natural-toned aesthetic that works beautifully in a wooded Maine setting.
- Game Lines: Half court basketball lines in black provide clean contrast against the green surface without overwhelming the look.
- Custom Logo: A 6′ x 6′ Boston Celtics logo was installed at center court, adding a personal touch that makes this space feel like it belongs to someone who actually loves the game.
Equipment
Basketball System: A Pro Slam adjustable hoop with a 36-inch arm and 72-inch glass backboard brings a professional-grade shooting experience to a residential setting. The adjustable height mechanism gives the whole family access to the court.
